Cholmondeley Festival of 1,000 Classic Cars – September 2017

This was the 31st Festival of 1000 Classic Cars and North West Motor Cycle Show, and our 4th Club visit.

As always, the perfect backdrop of the impressive gothic villa of Cholmondeley Castle and the stunning gardens and grounds gives this event a wonderful setting for our final outdoor show of the season.

For the first time we managed to feature 3 Sonic Shadows as centre position on the Club stand, alongside a range of 10 fantastic examples of our Members’ Mk1s, Mk2s and a Mk3.  It was good to welcome Kieran and Jenny Taylor for the first time too.

We were surprised by an unexpected visit of a Samurai Warrior, who was very excited by the display of our brilliant Japanese cars (later to discover it was local Member Chris Bailey!).

Several cars entered the arena in the different categories and we enjoyed good banter with the arena commentator throughout the day.  We were very pleased to be awarded Best Club Stand and I was very pleased to be awarded Runner Up in the Sports Cars and Convertibles Class.
