Clumber Park – June 2017

This was the first time that a Classic Car Show has been held at Clumber Park.  It was at the request of the National Trust to run the classic car show.  It was in the spectacular surroundings of the parkland and we had a good spot at the entrance to one of the huge fields, where a total of 750 cars we allocated.

We had 6 cars on display: David Blackburn’s white Mk2, Brian Flanagan’s red Mk1, Mike & Phyl Lovegrove’s yellow Mk2, Andy Brown’s blue Mk2, Dave & Shirley Hall’s green Mk2 and our silver Mk2.

It was a scorching hot day and we took refuge under the event shelter from the blazing hot sun!  Well that does make a change from sheltering from the rain I suppose.  As it was Fathers’ Day, there was plenty to see and it was a lovely way to spend a family day together, Grandfathers, Mothers and Grandmothers alike, not to mention the children!

There were arena events during the day, which were very well supported by all the car and motorbike clubs, and the public enjoyed the spectacle too under the shade of the trees and parasols.
